Is there any chance of success if you transfer non PGT tested embryo during IVF?
Is there any chance of success if you transfer non PGT tested embryo during IVF?
“Preimplantation Genetic Testing” (PGT) is another way to increase the chance of success in treating infertility. Especially in women who are over 35 years old and have a history of repeated miscarriages or have been pregnant and the child was born abnormally. PGT is a way to help get more perfect embryos ready for implantation.
PGT tested embryo VS Non PGT tested embryo, which one has higher success rate?
The higher the chance of finding abnormalities in the embryo’s chromosomes happens to women who get pregnant at an advanced maternal age. Therefore, embryo chromosome screening is an option that reduces the risk of abnormal pregnancy. It also reduces the occurrence of complications and the chance of birth defect as well.
Meanwhile, women who get pregnant at an advanced maternal age but do not want to do PGT. If the embryo has a good grade, there is also a chance of success in conceiving. However, there may be a risk that the embryo will stop developing or develop into a baby but with genetic disorders. This is because the embryo has abnormal chromosomes.
Even though the embryo has a good grade but it has ‘chromosome abnormalities’, it will not be suitable for implantation. This must consider the embryo of each patient as a case by case.
PGT is considered a special test with an additional charge apart from the ICSI cost. It depends on a patient’s need. We recommend you to consult with a specialized doctor for making your decision.
