Egg Freezing Review by Khun Pan – Nichapat Suphap

Egg freezing at the age of 34 is too late! Egg Freezing Review

“If I had known this, I would have frozen my eggs at 25-26”, said Khun Pan – Nichapat Suphap, Thai woman who has attended the Met Gala, a major fashion event, and has met many world-famous celebrities. She is an International Image Consultant and Communication Consultant.

Since she has been living abroad mainly, she thought about egg freezing and searched for both Thai and international clinics. Finally, she decided to visit Dr. Poonkiat Punyamitr at Prime Fertility Clinic for her egg freezing program.

She has heard that a woman’s ovarian performance decreases after the age of 35. However, when she had her physical checkup and started the treatment program, she found that living with unhealthy lifestyles can affect the quality and quantity of eggs as well, even though the age is less than 35.

Therefore, her voice should be heard by every woman to raise an awareness of egg freezing at a young age for the best outcomes. How was her egg freezing experience? Let’s find out in this VDO.

Egg Freezing

Nowadays, the technology involved with human egg, sperm, and embryo cryopreservation has been developed to lead the ability to freeze (cryopreserve) and store for a long period of time and to establish more alternatives of fertility treatment. The modern freezing techniques cause no damage to frozen gamete cells or embryos. There is almost no difference of pregnancy rates between using frozen cells and fresh cells. At present, vitrification requires a high concentration of cryoprotectant and liquid nitrogen to rapidly cool down and protect cells from ice crystal formation. This technique does not need costly equipment while it takes a short time about 30 minutes per case.

Egg freezing is a method to preserve woman’s reproductive cells by extracting eggs from ovaries then freezing with vitrification technique that does not harm the eggs. It allows a woman to keep her eggs for several years and use them whenever needed. This process is more common and getting more popularity.

Previously, egg freezing was used in a patient with high egg count regarding ovarian stimulation of IVF or in case of freezing donated eggs. However, the vitrification technique has been recently developed and improved. As a result, success rate after egg thawing in terms of fertilization and pregnancy is higher and not different from the use of eggs without freezing. Making the demand of egg freezing rises accordingly.

Egg freezing is a solution for those women who are not ready to conceive as of medical issues or family planning. When women get older, the chance of pregnancy and egg quality decrease. Leading the higher risks of miscarriage and chromosome abnormality to the fetus.
So, egg freezing at a suitable age is a way to stop aging of eggs or egg degeneration in order to increase the chance of future pregnancy.

Frequent drinking and hangovers increase the risk of infertility

Frequent parties and hangovers can directly and indirectly affect your health, especially for those who are already planning to have children. This makes it even more difficult to have children!

Because frequent and large amounts of alcoholic beverages cause the hormones in the body to function abnormally.

What are the effects of drinking alcohol and hangovers?

In men > Abnormal testosterone production results in the body producing less sperm, poor quality sperm, and reduced fertilization ability.

In women > Abnormalities in the pituitary glands hormone system and hormones that control ovarian function result in no ovulation, abnormal uterine lining, and increased chances of premature birth or miscarriage.

It also reduces the absorption of vitamins and minerals, increasing the risk of malnutrition such as magnesium and potassium. It also comes with negative effects from a “hangover” such as insufficient sleep, restless sleep, headaches, dizziness, vomiting, dehydration, fatigue, etc. These are indirect negative effects that affect the body.

Therefore, drinking excessive amounts of liquor, beer, wine, or other alcoholic beverages is a cause of infertility and reduces the chances of having children by up to 50%.

If anyone is planning a pregnancy and still has problems controlling their alcohol consumption, you may need to consider consulting a mental health professional or medical professional to find a treatment plan.

When preparing to have a baby, should you eat more animal protein or plant protein?

“Protein” is important for people of all ages, and they will receive different benefits. It must be consumed in different amounts at different ages. Protein is easily found in animal products, such as meat, milk, eggs, and processed foods such as butter and cheese.

But for parents who want to start taking care of themselves to avoid infertility, they can begin by avoiding high-fat foods and trans fats, such as margarine, fried foods, and snacks, to control blood sugar levels and reduce the risk of diabetes.

So how should people who want to have children eat protein?

If you are preparing to have children, you should eat 1-1.5 grams of protein per body weight/day. Proteins that should be eaten include fish, eggs, chicken, beef, pork, etc.

Eating protein from animals should be done in moderation. Although the nutritional value of animal protein is high, fat, cholesterol, and the risk of various dangerous diseases are also increased.

Plant protein is low in saturated fat, has no cholesterol, is high in fiber, and has fewer calories than animal protein. They can be eaten together, but it is recommended to avoid plant proteins that have effects similar to female hormones, such as soybeans and processed soybean proteins because they can affect the uterus.

Eating protein with iron will help strengthen the uterus and also help produce quality eggs. In addition, eating green vegetables to increase folate and vitamin B helps accelerate ovulation, resulting in a good chance of pregnancy in the future.
